17 New Bands Added to Download Festival 2018 Line-Up

Download Festival 2018 has been slated to come to Donnington Park across the 8th, 9th & 10th of June, and we’re already mighty excited. How could we not be? Avenged Sevenfold headline the Main Stage on Friday, Guns N’ Roses step in on the Saturday, and the unstoppable Ozzy Osbourne rounds things out on Sunday.

Those three announced headline acts alone justify a ticket to next year’s Download Festival, and the line-up just grew more tempting with the addition of Parkway Drive, Bullet for my Valentine, Rise Against, Babymetal, and more.

It seems the acts are just as excited to come to Download Festival as regulars are to host them. Parkway Drive responded to say that: “Parkway Drive are super stoked to be returning to Download for 2018. It’s always a highlight for us to play Download and this time around we’re aiming to top it all. We can’t wait!”

Matt Tuck of Bullet for My Valentine said: “We’re so excited to be playing next year’s Download Festival!! It’s been 5 long years now since we last performed at Donington Park, so we’re more than ready to get back on that legendary stage and do what we do best. See you there!” Babymetal greeted the news with their own celebration: “We are so happy to announce that we will be playing at Download UK!! We were last there in 2016 and it is an absolute honour to be returning to this prestigious festival next year.”

Nothing says excited rockstar like redundant exclamation points, so it sure seems that bands are going to be bringing their A-game.

If you’re interested, that brings the full line-up to:

  • Alexisonfire
  • Asking Alexandria
  • Babymetal
  • Black Veil Brides
  • Body Count
  • Bullet for my Valentines
  • Dream State
  • In This Moment
  • Marilyn Manson
  • Mayday Parade
  • Meshuggah
  • Neck Deep
  • Rise Against
  • The Hives
  • WSTR

Of course, there’s going to be more there than just bands. WWE NXT will be returning to bring high-flying moves and all the thrills of the squared circle to Download visitors, while The Side Splitter Stage will play host to hilarious shows from stand-up comedians, circus performers, and musical comedy acts. If WWE isn’t quite medieval enough for you, fret not. Mass battles of armoured knights drawn from across Europe will bring the percussion of sword on shield to Donnington Park next June. So, yeah, pretty cool.
